What is Natural Language Processing?

Natural Language Processing is also known as computational linguistics and is also referred to as NLP for short. This is a process that is intended to automatically analyze human language. In this process, human language is not only analyzed, but also represented. There are certain rules and algorithms with which the language is recorded and processed on a computer basis.

What significance does Natural Language Processing have for SEO?

NLP is also becoming increasingly important for search engine optimization. With regard to Google search, Natural Language Processing is used in areas such as search query interpretation, the classification of various documents and entity analysis.

Currently, NLP plays a role for Google with regard to the identification and meaning of entities. Google only accesses unstructured information to a certain extent and displays it in the featured snippets. Only the completeness and up-to-dateness of the data are shown. Whether the data is correct, however, is not a given.

Google is not yet completely satisfied with the accuracy of the results of the automatic analysis. For this reason, direct positioning in the search results list is still being used cautiously. But in the future, NLP will certainly become increasingly important for placement in the search results lists, so SEOs will have to keep adapting and optimizing.
