What is Google Knowledge Graph?
The Google Knowledge Graph is assigned to the Universal & Extended Search area. In the SERPs, it is a separate box in which results from a wide variety of sources are displayed for entities. These can include text snippets, company data and similar search queries.
What significance does the Google Knowledge Graph have for SEO?
The Google Knowledge Graph offers many advantages for users, as they receive all important information at a glance. For search engine optimization and website owners, however, it has both advantages and disadvantages. From an SEO perspective, it is disadvantageous as users no longer have to click on the website to obtain further important information about the company. Websites therefore lose traffic, which can also have an impact on search engine rankings. Advertising revenue can also be lost as a result.
Nevertheless, the Google Knowledge Graph does not have to be viewed negatively. It is positive for website operators that they can be listed with text and image links.
The Google algorithm decides which ads are displayed. If the content is provided with markup language, the chances of being listed there increase. However, there is no guarantee of this. It is therefore also possible that some websites will not appear in the Google Knowledge Graph at all.
