What is SEO?

SEO is the abbreviation for Search Engine Optimization. Translated, it means search engine optimization. Search engine optimization involves various measures (on-page and off-page) that are intended to raise a website's ranking in organic searches.

Why is search engine optimization so important?

Every website operator wants their project to be found on Google and other search engines. The aim is to rank on the first page, preferably in the top three positions. But it's not that easy, as the competition is huge and everyone is trying to get to the top.

Website owners must always try to stay one step ahead of the competition. This only works with good search engine optimization. This includes relevant content that is well structured. High-quality backlinks are also unavoidable. Nobody can avoid link building. User-friendliness and website performance must also be right. Google has numerous evaluation criteria that are used to evaluate a website.

Among other things, a long dwell time and the triggering of a conversion are seen as positive. If users stay on a page for a long time, Google notices that the website is really relevant and interesting.

However, if users bounce quickly, this is a negative sign for the search engine operator. This does not necessarily have to be due to the content. It may be due to the loading speed. If the page takes too long to load, users will quickly leave the website.
