What are search results?

Search results are all those websites that are displayed in the search engine based on a query. A distinction is made between organic and paid search results.

What significance do search results have for SEO?

Search engine optimization can have a good influence on organic search. Through appropriate SEO optimizations, it has an effect on the ranking factors of search engines. The following options are available:

  • Onpage SEO
  • Offpage SEO

On-page SEO summarizes all measures and optimizations that are carried out on the page itself. These include internal links, content optimization, loading speeds and pagination.

Off-page SEO measures are all optimizations that take place outside of a website. Link building and social media marketing are among the optimization options.

In general, it is very important that SEO is an ongoing process. It must therefore be optimized again and again in order to improve. Regular posts, updates and good readability of the content are all part of performing well.

What is the difference between organic and paid search results?

The difference is quite clear. Paid search results (paid listings) are advertisements, which are also recognizable by the term "advertisement". Organic search results, on the other hand, are dependent on algorithms. Many aspects are taken into account here. These include, among others:

  • Website performance
  • Internal and external links
  • well-structured content
  • Website content and headings

It should be noted that the search engine algorithm is regularly updated and adapted. Major Penguin or Panda updates sometimes have a massive impact on organic search. It is therefore important to keep up to date with the updates in order to react quickly and stay at the top of the rankings.
